About NorCliff Farms Inc.
NorCliff Farms Inc. has established their headquarters at Ontario’s very first fiddlehead farm, located in “the bog” bordering Port Colborne and Wainfleet Township on the North Shore of Lake Erie.
It was in 1973 when company president Nick Secord brought NorCliff Farms Inc. to existence. Born and raised in New Brunswick it’s no surprise that he would have taken on such a quest.
It has been said that “Fiddleheads are to New Brunswick, what the Maple Leaf is to the rest of Canada.”
What started out as a small enterprise has grown into a corporation, making NorCliff Farms Inc. the largest producers and packers of fiddleheads in North America with distribution on an international basis. NorCliff Farms Inc. operates on thousands of acres across Canada, which boasts millions of fiddleheads each year. The first official North American fiddlehead farm, NorCliff headquarters boasts beautiful scenery, immaculate wildlife and over 300,000 ostrich fiddlehead fern plants.
Wild Harvesting is the name of our game at NorCliff. One of Nick’s favourite sayings is “NorCliff Fiddleheads have no ‘cides.’ ” No herbicides, fungicides or pesticides are used on our crops at anytime. In the early spring our team forages the forests and riverbeds for wild fiddleheads and are handpicked, one by one.
We are proud to share the nutritional benefits, delicious flavour and unsurpassed quality of our fiddleheads with others.
